Wood Work

ABOUT US

EXCELLENCE AND PROFESSIONALISM

I grew up helping and learning from my dad how to build things out of wood. It has always been something that I am passionate about and love doing.

I started building wood products for taxidermists in 2021 when I took a personal bird to be mounted, and while talking with the taxidermist the topic of me having a small woodshop came up. He asked me to build two bases for Sandhill Cranes. After building the bases he talked me into going to the Wyoming Taxidermist Show in 2022. I quickly started looking at the different wood products used by taxidermists. I went to the Wyoming state show and learned even more.

The following year I received several phone calls from taxidermists around the state and created a great working relationship and made several great friends along the way.

While attending the Wyoming state show in 2023, I again met several great people. While at the show I was talked into producing 3D rocks. I took on the challenge and launched Otter Rocks. At the 2024 Wyoming Taxidermist show and the Colorado Taxidermist show, I took all my wood products and several different 3D Rocks and a 4x8 rock sheet.

Currently, I am working on expanding my wood inventory and expanding my inventory of 3D Rocks and creating new and different rock sheets.

I am always looking to do things differently, providing something different to the world of taxidermy.

PERSONALIZED APPROACH

The mission of my business is to provide quality products at a reasonable price. I am not a big box store, nor do I want to be. I work within a small wood shop and put an emphasis on quality, not quantity. I want to provide traditional customer service to my patrons. I want to work with customers on the shipping aspect of their experience. In most cases, depending on location, I work to deliver products to the taxidermist by charging a one-time delivery fee for the entire shipment.

My vision in growing my business is to listen to my customers when finding out their needs and then adapting my products to make sure I develop exactly what is needed.

My goal is to provide unique products, rather than what is offered in the catalogs. While I do make 36”x18” octagon bases, I try to offer different kinds of wood types than other places do.
